Dick McCorkle, who works for Perkins Specialized Transportation in Noblesville, IN, has been a driver for 44 years. Thanksgiving visitor inquires about Cascadia

Robert Wyatt, driver for Fraley Schilling at Rushville, IN, stopped by Thanksgiving day to see the new Cascadia parked in my driveway.  He said his company has freightliners, 10 Cascadias and approx. 150 Columbias at 3 terminals.  He has been a driver since 2002 and is a retiree from the United States Air Force.

1. Reduce or eliminate idling 2. Reduce speed these two items along increase mpg 3. Reduce out of route miles 4. Use idleair or apu 5. insure proper  tire air pressure 6. Clean or replace air filter and fuelfilters 7. have pm service completed when needed 8. Shift at proper r p m  high rpm’s burn fuel 9 .Use cruse control when ever possible.

          Remember drivers winter is here before trouble starts you might want to check these items. Check antifreeze level and concentration. Ensure no moisturein fuel tanks.Inspect any fuel heater. Clean and inspect heating system. Have a mechanic look at the air dryer. Recheck all belts and hoses and clamps.It wouldnt hurt to replace wiper blades also evaluate tire conditation. Check and clean all exterior light bulbs.And it wouldnt hurt to keep a set of tire chains with you just in case and a bag of kitty litter

     I will be back on line when I’m feeling better.  I was coughing so hard that I broke a rib.  I’ve been on 4 different antibiotics, and I’m starting to feel better.  The pneumonia is improving.  Everybody have a Happy Thanksgiving.  So long for now.

Well to begin with Iwas in Jackson Ms. going to pick up aload in Bruce Ms.The load was to deliver on Monday and I had planned on stopping at the T/A in Jessup Md. To do a little prmo. Well, the first stop couldnt deliver untilThur. so I was routed to drop trailer in Noblesville In. So Istopped in Nashville Tn. At the downtown T/A There were two drivers interested so they couldnt believe the room and how quiet the DD15 is and was very impressed with the Cascadia. So, all in all, it turned out to be a good day.

   A few older folkes i know were talking in the little store in  my home town. They call this weather a indian summer i dont think i have ever seen it this nice outside in the first November .They say it happens every few years and then the cold hits well they can keep the cold  71 degrees in Indiana and Michigan is very nice.
