A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR

Wednesday, December 31, 2008

I would like to take this time to wish everyone a very safe and Happy New Year!  It has been a great year for with “Slice of trucker life” and the freightliner group. The trip to Lowes nascar race in North Carolina was a real treat.  I look forward to the new year and what it brings.  God bless you all.

Merry Christmas to all

Wednesday, December 24, 2008

I would like to take this time to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and healthy prosperous New year.

 Recognizing the different beliefs….Happy Holidays.

But, let us not forget the real meaning of Christmas:

“for unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord, and this shall be

a sign unto you.  Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

On Friday Dec. 12th. I was doing real good going to deliver early. And pick up early But on I 30 between Royce City ,Tx and Dallas, Tx. Something came off an overpass a rock i guess. There was nothing in front of me.So any wayi had to stop and clean up slivers of glass. And also it sounded like i had been shot. The only good thing it was the passenger side windshield.

Not All Deliveries Are Easy

Today in Anderson, IN. delivering to a motel, it was 26 degrees outside. Windy, a little snow and freezeing rain. These poor guys had to unload me from the ground. They had a lift truck but who wants to drive it in the winter. Well anyway, Ross Olson and his crew of four men got the job done with no problems.

So long ole pal

Denny Abell is retiring from Perkins this month.  I have known him 35 years, at least.  I first met him at the “Truck Rodeo” when I was working for Mason Dixon lines (no longer in business).  To say he will be missed is an understatement.   Kenny Killion and Denny are responsible for recommending me for trucker of the month, trucker of the year and now slice of trucker life.  I owe quite a bit to Denny, really.  I don’t really know how to say it…Denny has helped me thru some hard times, let me put it like that.  I’ll miss you Denny.  Have a good peaceful retirement.  So long ole pal… Dick
