Blizzard like conditions in Michigan

Saturday, January 31, 2009

Well, I arrived in Holland Mi. Thursday 1/29 had a reload on Friday down by Three Rivers Mi. I took my break and when i got up to do my pretrip,to my supprise it was like a blizzard outside.  wish i had went on to my reload before it got bad.  I didnt so I had to deal with it.  just another day behind the wheel of a truck but the Cascadia handled great in all that snow and ice.  Well, I made it,  got the  load,  and dropped it at our Noblesville In. office and took the week- end off.  I was glad I had that fine Cascadia under me for safety and security.  It felt good not to have to worry about break downs and such.

Appearance at Bordentown, NJ Petro

Tuesday, January 20, 2009

On Tuesday 1/20, I made a stop at Bordentown, NJ Petro.  I answered several questions on  the CASCADIA and the DD15.  There are alot of company drivers through here as well as owner operators.  We talked on new trucks verses  repair.  Repair bills are high and the possible of break down again and again and loss of time and money verses a new truck and payments with no down time in shops.   All in all it went well, the Petro is a nice Travel Center .

Bad Weather Saturday, 1/10/09

Monday, January 12, 2009

Saturday was a very trying day.  It alI started out in Jessup, Maryland, trying to get to Franklin, Ohio.  I had it all: snow, freezing rain, sleet, and ice.  From Jessup to Breezewood, PA it took about four-and-a-half hours. Fog with very little visibility.  From Breezewood to Dallas Pike, WV was about another four-and-a-half hours.  I took my rest in Wheeling.  After my rest was up, I continued on toward Franklin. At about Zanesville, Ohio, it all cleared up and the road was dry.  The Cascadia handled the snow and all the other bad weather very well.  The Cascadia is quite a vehicle!  I wish all my fellow truckers could experience the Cascadia and the power of the DD 15.

Perkins Promotions.

Monday, January 12, 2009

Two employees from the Huntingburg, Indiana terminal, Kenny Killian and Mike Kunkler, received promotions. Both have  been employed with Perkins since 1974. Kenny started in the shop, then moved up to driver, and into management.  Mike has been a mechanic, occasionally driving, and is now in management.

I wish these two lots of luck.
