A Very Happy New Year

Thursday, December 31, 2009

Hi Folks!
Well another year is about over. I had a good year considering the economy. I had no big problems with the CASCADIA. The DD 15 finished the year at 7.4 mpg. I think the mpg is exceptional considering I never run the same route or carry the same freight. I would like to wish everyone a happy new year and hope that next year will be better than the last.

Until next time be safe.
Dick

P.S. I would like to wish a very happy new year to you Gary Adams, thank you for reading my blog.

Hi folks!
I met Kelly Bridenstine in Northern Ohio. We were picking up a load. He was interested in the slice of life program, and someday would like to upgrade to a Cascadia. It was a pleasure meeting Kelly. I hope to see him again.

Winter Road Chemicals

Tuesday, December 22, 2009

Hi folks!
I was cleaning the Cascadia up after a week of bad weather after cleaning on the frame rails a blister of the paint. I really dont how to prevent this from happening but I do suggest washing after you have run thur a storm. The bottom side is taking a beating, I have called a couple of body shops they have no advise on the matter. So you may want to keep an eye on it.

Hazleton, Pa. to Sidney, Oh.

Sunday, December 20, 2009

Hi folks!
Just a few words to say this wasnt a fun trip. After leaving Ridley Park, Pa.I headed for Hazleton, Pa. Arriving a couple of hours latter I switched trailers. The sky was getting very overcast the wind was picking up.I just wanted to get while the getting was good.So I made it to Snow Shoe, Pa.I took my rest and awakened to snow, not a lot but it was still comming down. With a 147 miles to the Ohio line I had better get with it the road was snow coverd but it wasnt all that slick. At this time I hadnt seen anyone off the road cars or trucks this was a good thing. Hearing that road were being closed all around in other states. Knowing that any one of the states were real close,I 81 I83 I495 I knew there would be lake affect snow Around Clearfield,Pa. Well so far the CASCADIA has done a great job,I hadnt had a spin out yet I was greatful for that. After reaching Hubbard,Oh.I decided to take a break. So long about noon I pulled out for Sidney, Oh. After getting here in Sidney, Oh. I felt very lucky not getting shut down somewhere. I owe a lot to the CASCADIA being a great all weather truck, it hasnt let me down yet.

Friday, December 18, 2009

Hi folks!
Well I made a delivery today I havent made before. The Boeing Co. Ridley Park, Pa. I was told they employ around 7,000 people it was like a city in a city. It is a hellcopter factory starting business in the early 1950s covering some 300 acres. Security was in place checking out everything I was glad to see all the security it makes you feel good to know they are there. And the crew really liked the CASCADIA.

Winter Blend Fuel

Wednesday, December 16, 2009

Hi folks!
Now that winter is here and buying winter blend fuel, my M.P.G. is still holding up. My loads have been light average 24,000 my m.p.g.7.3 to 7.5 I am glad the DD15 is doing that good. I didnt expect the mileage to hold up that good. I think the fuel is a little better than last winter the quality anyway.I will keep you informed of any changes.
Untill next time be safe.
