The Cascadia doing a great job

Friday, January 29, 2010

Hi folks!
Well it snowed and the road iced up this morning in west Hartford, Ct. But I got a reload yes I got a reload from East Longmeadow, Ma. Up North on I–91 onto a two lane never been on this road before. So when I arrived the shipper asked me is the roads bad, yes pretty slick out there. But I just traveled slow and easy with no problems. You see I have a Freightliner CASCADIA and it does a great job.
Until next time be safe.

Heading To West Hartford Ct.

Thursday, January 28, 2010

Hi folks!
I am on the way to West Hartford, Ct. this is not my usual run. A lot cooler here on I80 than in the south. The traffic seems to be heavier here in Pa. I stopped at Snow Shoe, Pa. Very little snow but it sure was cold. Well, I guess you cant stay in one place all the time, even though I would like to. I have no idea where I will reload. I dont run in this area very much so I dont really know where we will reload.
Until next time be safe

Interview with Overdrive/Truckers News Editor.

Tuesday, January 26, 2010

Hi folks!
Monday 1/25 was a busy day for me. I loaded a car show in Memphis, TN. And then I stopped at the downtown T/A in Nashville, TN. where I had a meeting with Todd Dills, senior editor with Randall Reilly, Overdrive/Truckers news. It was a pleasure meeting Todd. I guess I kept Todd busy talking about my trucking experiences for two hours or more. The main topic was backing a tractor trailer, no problem for me and the Cascadia. I showed Todd how I backed my unit, after coffee we said good nite. It was a lot of fun. Thanks Todd.
Until next time be safe.

Fuel used to and from the west coast

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

Hi folks!
I thought I would give a run down on fuel. I left Indianapolis, IN. going to Houston, Tx. then going from Houston,Tx to San Diego,Ca. With idle time, for a total of 2506
miles. I used a total of 282 gallons of fuel.
On the return trip from San Diego, CA. three pick ups in San Pedro, Ca. and thrn Chino,Ca for two pick ups loaded. To Indianapolis, IN., I used 262 gallions 2399 miles . I had 38360 going west and 16575 pounds coming east. So I think the DD15 did a great job.
Untill next time be safe.
