Memorial day is Monday and traditionally, in years past, the “Indy 500″ was always run on Memorial day no matter what day of the week it was…but for the convenience of the public, it is now run on the Sunday before the holiday. It is an exciting event even if you do not attend the race itsself. Most people have their radios on and you get excited just hearing the roar on the radio…its for family and friends…its for displaying the flag…but most of all, it is honoring our men and women who “gave all”. They gave their lives for us, let us honor them.

Hi, Folks!

The first real holiday of the season is here, and I’m lucky that I’m home for it. My wife decided we would go camping this weekend at our camper in New Lisbon, IN. Not only am I enjoying my day off, but I also got a chance to cut the grass, haul a big load of firewood in, spend some quality time with my family, and relax a little.

Even though I’m camping out just about every night of the week in the Cascadia, this is a little bit different. It has running water, a bathroom, and like the Cascadia room to move. My wife has been cooking, which is much better than running a microwave in the Cascadia.

After Memorial Day, it seems like it’s never long until summer is almost over. I certainly hope I can visit my campsite a few more times this year, since it’s always something I enjoy.

Well I delivered a job site at a school today. A good job site the site was ready for the delivery. Very easy to get around in actually made big enough for a truck to deliver with no problems. I wish all job sites were this easy. After unloading I went to Royerton,Ga. to load for Plain field, In. And that will be the last run for the 2009 CASCADIA, I really cant say enough good things about this truck, Its been a dandy.

When I stopped in Effingham, Il. late yesterday it was 92 degrees out side. Now thats hot,but is was nice inside the Cascadia. After it rained it was still warm out with the park vac no problem I stayed comfortable all nite. The Cascadia is well insulationed to keep all weather out and comfortable inside.

Well this is the last week for my first new truck in a long time. Oh its being replaced with a new CASCADIA but I have gotten attached to this beautiful green truck. Drivers still come up and look her over, and I still get compliments. Drivers let me tell you the CASCADIA along with the DD15 is a great truck. I have drove this cascadia since Aug.2008 with no down time due to motor issues, or transmission or rear end problems All my time in the shop were p.m. services, so I enjoyed no break downs no costly down times. If you are looking to buy,and want a great quite ride test drive the CASCADIA.

Well I loaded the Austin, TX. car show on Monday, all went welluntil I was just south of Waco, TX. It started raining so hard I couldnt see. So as soon as I found an exit I could get off safely I got off until the rain slowed up a little. I looked back and I had a convoy of cars behind me so they all stayed behind me until we reached I35 again. By the time I reached Dallas, TX. I called it a day. So I left Dallas early Tuesday morning. Drove to exit 19 in Missouri. And I am here in Dearborn, MI. unloading in the morning. And as always the CASCADIA did a great job.

Well I am here in Austin, TX. to pick up the last one of the season,taking the load back to Dearborn,MI. Its been nice here in Texas.Cleaned the inside of the CASCADIA on Friday getting ready to get out a fine ride and get into another. I visited the downtown area of Austin there are a lot of history here thats for sure. I enjoyed the river walk, 6th street there are a lot of clubs on 6th street and places to eat. And I did eat . Well I will get loaded in the morning and be on my way.

hi folks!
Just a note on the CASCADIA, while taking my 34 hour restart here in Dallas,TX. At the Pilot fuel stop I had the hood open doing some cleaning. Before long I had a couple of drivers come up with some questions. It was the standard type questions,m.p.g., how does it ride,power. but when I ask them to get inside and see how quite it is they couldnt belive how quite it really is and I told them its that quite running down the road. Just remember you have the best of both worlds power, and good milage. I spppose the milage depends on the speed and weight you haul. The Cascadia has done a great job for me, and the other two slice of trucker life drivers as well. And with the fourth driver comming on I know she will love the Cascadia as we do.

Just a short note to say everything went well today,La Qunta called me and wanted the freight as soon as I could get it there.So I got it there around 3:30 today. The manager gave me a room free of charge he said a good deed for a good deed. My hat is off to La Quinta Inns have a good week end all.
