Heading to Dallas, TX. area

Thursday, May 13, 2010

Hi folks!
Yep another job site delivery in the Dallas, TX. area I hope it is a better day than Tuesday. I will be delivering a motel this time they are usually in good locations next to the interstate or a well traveled road. At anyrate I like to deliver in the Texas a lot more room to move around in. The CASCADIA is doing a great job, its a great truck. Stop by a Freightliner dealership and check one out, see what you are missing mister truck driver.
Until next time be safe

Delivering in Cincinnati OH.

Tuesday, May 11, 2010

Hello folks!
Delivering in this city you really have to be careful,it seems as everywhere you stop you are on a hill. I am at a new school and yes its on a hill and very hard to get around .The crew gets on with the work of unloading as soon as you are able to get where they want you. There is no finished drive you have a mud and gravel drive it is hard pack but very muddy. But the Cascadia will get washed after we unload.
Until next time be safe

This is a very impressive dealership. It includes 79 bays in the truck-and-trailer shop and sits 42 acres of land, located on the South side of Indianapolis. I was also very impressed that Jeff Stoop has six locations in the IN and OH area. He has dealerships in Indianapolis, IN, Anderson, IN, Fort Wayne, IN, Freemont, IN, Lima, OH, and Dayton, OH.

The Indianapolis facility has a drive-through write-up inside, which is very nice. The dealership also has showers, a washer and dryer, sleep chairs, phone booths, and a big-screen TV for drivers. Stoop’s employs around 550 between the six locations. Three of his employees are favorites of mine: Mike Commer (in New Truck Sales), Tresha (Jeff’s Secretary), and Jeff Jacobs (Foreman of the Service Department).

Along with a truck dealership, Jeff also owns two car dealerships in Muncie and Plainfield, IN. (Corporate Headquarters are located in Indianapolis.)

Stoops is one of the largest heavy and medium duty truck dealers in North America. Jeff Stoops’ fleet through Stoop’s Express had more than 600 trucks, and Stoops has been in business for more than 23 years. His company sells Freightliner, Western Star, Sprinter, Wabash, and Timpte.

He started out as a teacher, and drove in the summers for extra money. His company-Stoop’s Express-was one of the top U.S. trucking companies. It was sold to Burlington Northern Railroad.

Until next time, be safe.
Dick
