Loading in Jasper, Indiana.

Hi Folks!

There are two fuel stops here in Jasper and quite a lot furniture manufacturing,  At one time,  this was the furniture capital, of Indiana anyway.   There is a lot of history here in Jasper, it is an interesting little town.   In talking to drivers at the fuel stops they haul furniture, wood for manufacturing,  live stock and paper products.   There are several cabinet makers… I used to haul a lot of the cabinets from this area.  It is very interesting to talk to local folks on how it used to be and how it is now, some changes are good and some not so good.   This is a nice small town with very nice people.  It would make a good “road trip” for anyone to visit.

Until next time be safe.

THE T/A MONTGOMERY, AL.

Hi Folks!
I couldnt deliver until Thursday, so on Wednesday, I stopped at the T/A in Montgomery, AL.  I was met by several nice folks,  enjoyed talking to the parts department and shop tech.  I found out that there are  a lot of local drivers in the area, most of wich  haul wood and some haul milk.   I found that interesting.   Most of the drivers I know haul freight in different areas.   There are several things to haul that most of us drivers dont think about , (we are so used to hauling dry freight) ,like milk, wood, wood products, rocks, ext,  the list goes on and on. It is a vast and interesting profession.

Until next time be safe.

So I took them a ride gave them some imformation booklets also we talked about the S.O.L. program and the EDGE program. I am always glad to answer questions,Bill and John hope you do alright at  Stoops Freightliner.

Delivering New Jersey

Hi Folks !

While delivering in Totowa, NJ,  I was greating quite a few drivers from the bakery next door.  All the drivers liked my CASCADIA and talking to the safety dept.head,  he informed me they are looking for some new trucks.  I suggested renting  a Cascadia to start and see how it would work out for him.  He was impressed with the mpg, roominess of the cab, how quiet the Cascadia is and low maintainence.  Not to mention how good lookin’ the Cascadia is… We shook hands and he invited me to come back again.  It was a good meeting.

Until next time be safe.

Beautiful Day In Indiana.

Hi Folks!

Yesterday was such a beautiful day I just couldnt stay in. So the Cascadia and I visited a few of the local truck stops. It seemed like most drivers that wanted to be home for Thanksgiving made it home.  A some I talked to dont really plan to go home till Christmas. Having a large family I will be home on the holidays to be with them. I took a few days off this week as freight was slow will be heading back east again this week. Not my usual type of run but I hope to be able to stop at some of the dealerships I havent stoped at and some truck stops. It seems like there isnt enough time in the day to do all a person wants to do, and still get the job done.

Until next time be safe.

Hi Folks!

Pictured below is Marion, an owner-op. leased to Sav Express  Coon Rapids, MN.  I met Marion in Nashville,TN.  He is an owner of a new Cascadia,  we spent some time comparing notes.  He had just done a 50,000 mile service and hadn’t had to add any oil.  The DD15 is some motor… All the drivers that own a DD15 loves them.

Until next time be safe.
