Positive image

Today I stopped at a convenience store to get a cup of coffee. When I was leaving,a lady stopped me and asked me if I was driving a truck. I told her that I was. The reason she asked was because I wear a nice professional uniform and neck tie. She then told me that I did not look like a truck driver. This is just one of many reasons that I dress the way that I do. If I had not dressed that way that conversation would not have occurred. I used the opportunity to talk to her about the many positive aspects of the trucking industry. It always gives me pleasure to represent our industry in a positive light .

I agree with you that there are so many stereotypes about truckers and the trucking industry and the only way for that to turn around is for people to start really talking up trucking in a positive light. Trucking is not only an important profession -but also necessary to keep people in all the things they need to keep things moving! I think it people realized how much truckers contribute to our society and what would happen if they weren’t around- they would show a lot more appreciation!
