Henry Albert is the owner of Albert Transport, Inc., based in Statesville, NC. Before participating in the "Slice of Life" program, Albert drove a 2001 Freightliner Century Class S/T™, and will use his Cascadia for general freight and a dry van trailer. Albert, who has been a trucker for 26 years, was recognized by Overdrive as its 2007 Trucker of the Year.

Getting ready to vote

We all enjoy living in this great free country we call the United States Of America. Its now time to take advantage of our greatest right as citizens. I can only hope that each and every one of takes advantage of this by voting in the upcoming election. Please take the time to make a educated choice and not a knee jerk reaction to the political ads we are bombarded by. Remember we are voting for more than just president . Many of the people that we elect have as much or more affect on our daily lives than the president. I am going to vote early in my home state of North Carolina when I get home.

    It’s been one year since I moved to Oregon from NC and I hate that I can’t vote in this year’s election down there–there seem to be a lot of close races! Glad to hear you voted early though–I’m getting ready to do the same. We are lucky to have the right to do so!
