Great weekend at Lowes motor speedway

Wednesday, October 15, 2008

It was really nice to be able to go to the races this weekend. I really enjoyed getting to spend some time with Kurt , Dick and their wives. I only wish that I would have had more time with these outstanding professionals. Unfortunately,I had problems with my other truck that needed to be resolved Friday night. It was very nice to get away from everyday life for awhile though .I would like to thank the fine people at Freightliner for getting us together for such a great event. In closing I would like to congratulate Jeff Burton on his winning performance.

Never Before

Thursday, October 9, 2008

As I was getting up to start my day a man pulled up to my truck and asked if he could take some measurements off of it . I told him that that would be fine . It turned out that he was doing a promotion for Old Dominion Freight Lines. Normally when someone approaches me like this they want money or something else other than measurements. I hope that I was helpful to him.

Lucky Day

Wednesday, October 8, 2008

I feel lucky today ,because I won a 10 percent discount at Foot locker with my Mcdonalds value meal this morning .Wow with that kind of luck ,Ed Macman cant be to far from my house. All kidding aside I am a very lucky man ,because I have a wonderful supportive wife ,terrific son and enough work to support my family. There is not a whole lot else that I really need. I never knew that a value meal would make a person think so much. It does a person good to think about the things we have sometimes instead of what we don’t have.I can only hope that this post helps someone else to realize what they have . If it does then that was a real value meal

Finding leaders

Tuesday, October 7, 2008

The problem with finding good leaders in business or government is that nobody will follow unless things are going badly enough for them. If a leader really did what is necessary, it normally requires us to go through some sacrifice on our own part. Nobody that I have met is wanting to sacrifice anything on their own, except maybe soldiers, firemen and police officers. The good news is that if things get bad enough, it will be easy to find great leaders because we will be ready to follow. The Cascadia teamed up with the Detroit Diesel DD15 is proving to be a leader in comfort, handling and efficiency to me. My hat is off to the people at Freightliner and Detroit Diesel for making the right truck for the right times.

Amazed driver

Monday, October 6, 2008

I left a driver sit in my truck today and he could not believe how quiet it was when the door was closed. You have to get in this truck to understand what a leap forward it truely is. They almost have my load finished so I must go for now.

Back to the real world

Sunday, October 5, 2008

Well, hear I sit getting ready to go back to my normal freight to haul . It was sure nice to get away for awhile. It seems as though nothing good happenened in the news while I was away. The only way  our trip would have been any better,is if my wife could have accompanied us . She had to stay behind to keep our other truck loaded and rolling. Things are slow and she needed everything in our office to assist her.

Coming home

Wednesday, October 1, 2008

Here is the truck at homeIt sure will be nice to get home and see my wife . Iam not sure what Iam geting into because they are out of fuel in our local area. Also a note of thanks to Hickory Freightliner for fine tuning the shift patterns in my transmission. The mechanics name was Henry and he did a very good job . I would recommend him to anyone.
