New Run

Monday, December 8, 2008

Today I started a new route. I will be running between Charlotte North Carolina and Janesville Wisconsin . It sure was nice driving in some new territory for a change . I also am enjoying the fuel mileage that my Cascadia is getting so far on this route . At this point in the trip it is 7.67 according to the dashboard display. The DD15 does not even know it is pulling any thing in this flatter part of the country. I will keep everyone posted as to what the fuel mileage is on a complete round trip. Here is a little fuel saving tip to share before signing off for the day . I always try to make all of my fuel stops and rest breaks at the top of hills or on level ground . It takes a lot less fuel to get back up to speed this way .

The Next Generation Driver

Wednesday, December 3, 2008

Yesterday I met a company driver who is wanting to become a owner operator. He commented on how I dress for work (shirt and tie). I told him what a difference it made with the success of my business as a whole. We had a nice conversation in which I tried to give him the best advise that I could in the short time we had together. One of the important things that I told him was how important it was to have a efficient truck like the Cascadia with a DD15 engine. After all a rider can only be as good as his horse .
