My Trucker Buddy Class Visit

//

Ms.Armstrong's third grade class

Hello,

This week, I’m attending the OOIDA board meetings in Grain Valley, MO. I left out a day early in order to stop by the Central Catholic-St. Nicholas School in St. Louis, MO. I made arrangements ahead of time to stop by and meet Ms. Jane Armstrong who teaches third grade at the school and heads up “The Trucker Buddy” program within her class. My visit included meeting the new students for this year and seeing the children from last year’s third grade class. After enjoying lunch with them in the cafeteria, the kids were excited to get an upclose look at the Cascadia. Each one climbed up and got a first hand view of life on the road. They were thrilled with the bunk beds, microwave, and TV. They had lots of questions… one child asked “how many minutes would it take to get from MO to Chicago, IL”? They all seemed to enjoy the truck and it’s features. The class gave me a drawing of an angel to carry along with me in the truck. They students wished me safe travels and it was time to say goodbye.

It’s great getting to know the children by letters, photos, drawings and postcards. I look foward to another great year ahead being a part of the “Trucker Buddy Program”. Best wishes to Jane Armstsrong and her third grade class. Thanks for a great visit!

My class from last year and this years class got to go out and see my Cascadia

The start of the exploration

The students had fun while they waited for their turn.

Smiles like this make the whole visit worthwhile.

They all felt like big stuff looking out the sleeper door.

They thought my trailer would be good to use for their Christmas shopping.

Everyone wanted to take this group picture in front of my Cascadia.

At the end of my visit the class presented me with this Angel and wished me safe travels on the road.

    Henry it looks like you had as much fun with your class as we had with our class. What a rewarding experience and seeing the kids and answering there plethora of questions was as much fun for us as it was for them. We had fun as the questions ranged from what time where we born to what is our favorite state to drive in.

    Hi Henry,

    Thanks for posting the pictures from your class visit. I linked it on the Trucker Buddy home page as well. I get emails and calls from so many drivers that have a tremendous experience on their class visit and I’m sure you had a great one too. Keep up the good work!
