big rig expo

hello everyone, i hope everyone had a safe weekend. the truckshow over the weekend was great. it’s was’nt a midamer. or gats but none the less insight full for me and to our customers. they had a lot of old trucks there, you look at those and than the new ones and wonder how anyone could drive that thing, they must have been real men :) ha ha. i still had a lot of people looking at the casadia, some liked it, some cant seem to drive anything but a hood. but thats alright to free america. the high lite of the event in my opion was the life time acheivement award presented to john christner of john christner trucking. he was very surprised and greatful you tell it on his face. we had live music and free giveaways. it was a great time for all.

Kudos to John on the Lifetime achievement award! Sounds like the show had a great kickoff. It will be interesting to watch and see how it grows over time!

  2. TJ K. Says:

    Yes .. John Christner Congrats!

But the show wasn’t so great!

Really to say that it wasn’t a Gats was an understatement.

I had a couple days to spare sitting at the Flying J so a friend off mine and I went down both days! We saw that on the website and on a flyer that Leland Martin was suppose to play and we have met him a couple of times so we really went to see him. He was a NO show? Not to mention both days there wasn’t really anyone there or any good booths.I think there was what maybe 25 people showing products. . It was like a ghost town. Not impressed at all.

I think it’s was great John won the award, but I’m not sure which Big Rig Expo they are talking about. The one I was at in Tulsa was a big joke. Leland Martin was to be there and was not. Found out later he pulled due to his sponsor being asked not to come the last minute. I thought it was a flop. Not many vendors and no people. Maybe if they try again next year they can do much better. As for me, I will not waste my time going back

  4. Kurt Grote Says:

tjk, and bob, that is to bad you guys did’nt enjoy the big rig expo. some of the venders i had talked to told me they are planning for next year. besides midamerica and gats had to start somewhere.
