“roanoke va”

hello, once again everyone. i hope you all were safe and profitable this week. i’m getting loaded again this afternoon and headed back east. it looks like a pretty good run, but we will wait and see. the truck seems to be getting better and better the more miles i put on it. the fuel mileage is going up and the pulling power seems to be getting stronger as well. it seems to that i cant put into words how strongly i feel about this set up it’s simply amazing. i will be looking for all of you at the T+A truckstop in roanoke va. on saturday jan.24. exit 150. lets hope for nice day and be able to set up outside with the truck and my little side kick spencer, he likes to do most of the talking. by the way he is a miniature schnauzer and is very vocal. if you dont get a chance to catch me at the T+A you can all ways comment right here on my blog, to ask your questions. i do read all comments that come in and try to answer them the best i can. until i see you on saturday you all be safe out there.

Hi Kurt! I heard you on Kevin Rutherford’s show on Saturday and wanted to compliment you on your presentation. I am a long-time member of Kevin’s website and really enjoy his show. I’m a company driver for a small refrigerated fleet from South Dakota. This company bought 9 T-660 KW’s in 08,all were 09 models, and this fall they bought a Cascadia to try it out. I’m not sure of the specs on it, but my boss said it was doin good for mpg’s. They’ve had some problems with some of the KW’s but I have been lucky not to be one of those! I have 161,021 miles on as of 1-25-09 since 2-2-08, you know I don’t sit much, thankfully! I’ll continue to follow your progress and fill ya in how the Cascadia in our fleet is doin. Take care!

thanks for the comments craig, i’m a big fan of kevin’s also. i’m sure you will see a big fuel savings with the cascadia the older it gets and the more miles are put on it. keep checking back on the website to see what truckstop i might be at. if you have any questions please ask, if i don’t know the answer i know people that do. take care and be safe.

Hi Kurt, Just curious as to how your Cascadia is spec’d out (horsepower, transmission, rear-end). Also, What speeds do you normally run and what is your fuel mileage average for the time you have had your truck? Also, what, if any problems, have you had with the truck (mechanical, wiring, etc.) that would cause you to take it to the shop? Thanks, Gene

  4. Kurt Grote Says:

hey gene, this is the spec’s on my truck. it is equipped with the DD15 485/535 detroit. it has 326 rears with a 10 speed auto shift. i usually run somewhere between 68 to 72 mostly west back to midwest. and always pretty heavy. really and truly the only problems that i have had was an injector wiring harness, which was fixed in about 4 hours. other than that the truck has been very solid. right now my fuel mileage is running 6.38 mpg. i hope this answers your questions. and if you have any more just leave another comment. thanks and be safe.
