“Louisville Bound”
hello everyone, I’m approaching 80,000 miles on this truck and i still can’t believe how well this truck works. scaled 78,000 lbs. and I’m in bakersfield ca. and I’m getting 6.37. what a difference from my w900. i don’t know if i could go back and drive the w900. i deliver in tracy ca. tomorrow afternoon. i already have a reload lined up for tomorrow nite and head for “MATS”. I’m real excited about the truck show. because, i have never been to Louisville for the truck show before. being in the show has a lot to do with my excitement. i do realize that a lot of vendors have pulled out of the show and that’s to bad. however there are a lot of vendors that will be there. so I for one am not going to concentrate on the negative but on the positive. if you have any suggestions on the things to look at or things you might be interested in let me know. and i will do my best to get that info to you. i what to know what it is that you are interested in, and just because you can’t for whatever reasonĀ make it, you shouldn’t have to miss out on all the new stuff that is available. some of you that have been to Louisville before, i know you can help me out and give me direction. the show is to start on the 19th. i will be at the booth with the other “slice of trucker life” drivers henry albert, and dick mccorkle. as we get closer i will post what booth number we will be at. until next time.

I’m not a trucker but enjoy following you travels. What’s it like to have a life on the road? Since starting to follow you, Dick and Henry, I now know what a Cascadia is and point them out to my wife. This afternoon she accused me of being unfaithful because I scope out every 18 wheeler traveling anywhere near our four wheeler.

hey will glad to see you keeping up with us. your question is a good and lengthy one. for me it’s about running my own business and not having a boss looking over your shoulder. you have to be a self starter. as long as you know and understand you have freight to deliver and pick up that someone has paid for. however being able to see every inch of this country right to left and top to bottom cant be more rewarding. this country is absolutely a very pretty place. hope to hear from you again. kurt

Kurt, can you listen for any and all “buzz” while at the show pertaining to the trucking industry in general in this current economic condition. Since you will have a booth, you are in a prime position to hear what other drivers have to say. Thanks, Barry

hello i have always wanted to know about the real world exp not just the hype of the ads. so when i saw Kurt at truck show i took the time to find out all i could about mpg, noise, and the new truck all around inside and out the time i spent was great and also the no idle system he uses was a surprise. and it all works great i am here to pick up a load from the show sunday and will look at all i can but i know talking to Kurt i and looking at going back to detroit motor for the next truck and frightliner keep the new and great things like the new steering system and the new colors for the inside will be a great eye candy instead of the plain prison gray lol, again thank you all for the info on real life in a new products..;) paradise

Wow, that sounds like a pretty decent piece of equipment your driving there Kurt. I owned 2 freightliners but never drove a W900. Those Cascadia’s are sharp! Haven’t driven one of those either. How do you like the inside?
I was hoping that i would get to make it out there to the Trucking show, i don’t think I will though.
See what they are saying about how they think the border crossing at the US/Mexican line will play out. I was wondering would they reinstate the allowed crossing or find another agreement with the Mexican government to ease the taxes they imposed.
Have fun trucking Kurt.

Congrats on being nominated for the Oklahoma Trucker of the Year. Can’t believe you’ve gone 80,000 miles in that truck since Tom and I saw you in October. Glad to hear its still riding well. Good luck at MATS this week!
