hello everyone, i hope everything is well on your end!! we just got back from the Dallas truck show. i hope i had a chance to meet all of you there. if you were there i hope you had a good time. it was a real experience for me and Margee. first i would like to thank all of the atc freightliner, lonestar dealer group and the daimler people whom we had the pleasure of meeting there. they all made Margee and I feel not only special but very appreciated also. you guys did a terrific job thank you!! even though the show wasn’t what it once was i sure stayed plenty busy!! i had people standing in line waiting, just to see the inside of my truck and then they couldn’t believe that it was a working truck with 140000 miles on it, and that spencer my dog also lives in that truck. there are a lot of people i need to thank and i will probably miss some but I’ll do the best i can. the girls from J.C.T. recruiting who posed for me in front of my truck that picture turned out great!! i also can’t forget the guys that did my detailing and there were only two guys from Spiff Services that did the detailing, the truck looked like it was just drove off the show room floor. those guys did a fantastic job and they said they didn’t even have to wax it. it is still hard for me to believe the truck cleaned up that nice!! i hope you go to my photo stream and look at just some of the pictures that Margee and i took. to all the people that did look inside my truck that i had talked to or answered questions, it is my hope that i presented the Cascadia as well as myself and Margee in a positive manner. i also hope that i addressed your concerns and issues in a way that you understood and that it covered your particular question or concern. over all it was a great experience for me and i know i had learned something from it. i think the most asked question i got was how i mounted the 26″ flat screen t.v. to make it turn and not rattle as i am going down the road. there were a lot of questions on the battery operated apu system also. that was a real hot topic. of course the usual questions about the motor and my mpg. also the ride and roominess of the cab and sleeper. a big thanks needs to also go out to Midnight Trucking Radio for making special time for us to do a interview with them that was great!! i don’t know when eric and gary will air this interview but i know we will post it on our website very soon!!! i will talk more about the show in days to come, so keep an eye on the site be safe and see ya soon!!! thanks again everyone!!! kurt

“emergency”

Tuesday, August 11, 2009

hello everyone, the question i have this week is on emergencies. what would you do in an emergency? just plain and simple. just you and no one else around, you know the c.b. don’t work like we would like it to work and sometimes the cell phone is a bit sporadic. how would you call for help how could you get the help you might desperately need in a fast and sufficient manner? myself i am one of the lucky ones. i have a great cast of people around me that i associate with on a regular bases. for example: terry redding we talk a lot on the phone mostly about business, fueling strategies, routes he might see something i don’t. people at the office especially nights such as troy and tracy, and randy. they pretty much know my routine so they know my habits. when i get up and start my work day and when i stop and even when i take a dinner break!! of course i would’nt forget my wife margee. she is as much part of this one man operation as i am. she has all the knowledge as before mentioned and more!! no mater what or when or how i know she can and will handle it without question. last but not at all least the company that i am leased to. they have the ability to locate dispatch and recover in such a short time frame it can only boggle the mind. they seam to get things moving with just a stroke of the right key. i believe all these elements are essential to a profitable business. i often joke about being a “business man” which i try and be however I’m just a little mom and pop store making my way in the world to better myself my community and my nation. i am very proud and blessed to have all of these people in my corner for love and support whether i like what they say or not. i thank each and everyone of you!!!  if you have a story or thought on this subject i would be glad to hear it. i would also like to invite each of you to the great American trucking show next week. i hope to see all of you there checking out my truck, it will be in the freightliner booth.
