“MATS 2010″

Monday, March 22, 2010

Hello everyone I hope all of you had a safe and profitable week. I see by the way my computer was left that someone has used my computer, I know it couldn’t have been Spencer!! Could it Spencer?
At any rate as most of you already know, but those of you that don’t I am on my way to Louisville KY for the largest truck show “The Mid America Truck Show” or MATS if you will. Spencer is a little upset with me for not taking him along but he will get over it as soon as he sees me again. I’m not used to not having him around it’s kind of strange but at the same time refreshing. By all indications this year should be a better show than last year. I don’t know if the weather is going to cooperate but it still should be a great show. As far as Freightliner is concerned there are a lot of special events that are in the works this year. For instances the announcement of the 4th driver for the slice of life program, I know I will be excited to meet this new addition to the program, who ever it might be. Also the key presention for the new 2010 tech., trucks that Dick, Henry, and myself have spec’d out for the new up and coming program. We are also having a ride along in the new Cascadia, with drivers who want to drive one of these great trucks. Thats just a few events that are planned. Not to mention the show in it’s self. If you are at the show please stop by and say hello, I would be more than happy to talk and show you these great trucks, and as usual to answer any questions you may have. If I don’t know the answer to your question I know someone who will. In fact I encourage you to try and stump me!! I hope to see you all there. Spencer and I will be back on the road, yes together next week. Until then all of you be safe and profitable.

“to much winter”

Saturday, March 13, 2010

Hello everyone, I hope all of you have been safe and profitable! This is Spencer, I finally got my chance to take over dads computer to write my own blog. However I must be quick before he catches me. I don’t know about you but I’m sick and tired of winter. First I’m in Washington state snow and rain and stuff cant find a good place to relieve myself. I hate to get wet and poor dad has got to get in it also. Our truck is a mess, we just think about washing it and before the thought leaves our mind it’s either raining or snowing so out goes the truck wash. Let me tell you about the cold!! You all have shoes and socks on try it bare foot! You think your tough? I no sooner get warm and guess what? Yep in the south where it is warmer than up north and dad forgets to take off my sweater, now it’s really warm. We have made it down to Florida this week, and look over there real green grass this is going to be fun!! I hope we can stay just for a day but probably not. I know “mats” is coming up also, which really makes me mad because I can’t go!! I don’t know why! But it ain’t fare!! Do these hotels not take dogs? I can show them how cute I am. I can also show them how well behaved I can be! Do they not have dogie day care? Anyway I had better get off of here before he returns. If any one has any suggestions I would be happy to hear from you, I would really like to go to one of these events! I know it’s to late for this year, but maybe another event. As dad says until the next truck stop you all be safe!

“Awards Banquet”

Monday, March 1, 2010

Hello everyone, I have one event that has come and gone. That would be the awards banquet
in Oklahoma City. This banquet is held every year to recognize drivers for their achievements thru out the past year and previous years. The awards go to 1 million mile drivers, two million mile drivers and so on. They also give company’s awards for their outstanding safety achievements thru out the year. I was fortunate enough to get an professional drivers award last year, one of only twelve are handed out each year in the state of Oklahoma. I was also nominated this year for the top honor of driver of the year for the state of Oklahoma. Unfortunately I did not receive it again this year, but the nomination means that I am doing things right as far as safety and the way I conduct my business. Once again one out of twelve is not that bad. I appreciate all the support I receive from friends and family in my quest for the top spot. I am not discouraged or am I disappointed in the out come, all it means is that I have to work harder at what I do. To be nominated two years in a row and tobe one of only twelve drivers in the entire state recognized makes me very proud of my profession. Next on my agenda is the Louisville truck show “mats” in Louisville KY. March 25th through the 27th I hope to see you all there. Until the next truck stop you all be safe.
